Air New Zealand Business Class Lounge Melbourne
The Air New Zealand Business Class Lounge at Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport is located in T2, the international terminal. It’s near to the Qantas, Kris Flyer (Singapore Airlines), American Express and Cathay Pacific lounges, just down an escalator to the ground floor. If you’re travelling on an Air New Zealand flight in business class, you can present your boarding pass and passport for access.
Lounge and services
The lounge is bright and airy and has large windows at one end that over look the main apron for the International terminal. Great for acclimatising to the local time if you’re passing through, and lots of fun if you’re a massive aviation geek as well.
There are plenty of seats organised into groups of 4, 2, and some communal benches if you’re travelling alone or want a table to do some work. The lounge also has loads, no like LOADS of power outlets most of which also have dedicated USB-A charging ports.
Food and drink
I was here in the morning so the food service was a breakfast. Available were pastries, yoghurts, toast and a few hot options. These included beans and scrambled eggs. There were plenty of drink options and alcohol was available from two spots in the lounge and included spirits, beers, wine and champagne.
Espresso coffee was also available from the on-site barista. As you’d expect in Melbourne it was really good, but props to the lady who drew a love heart in my latte, +10 bonus points right there.
Summary
This was my first time in the Air New Zealand Business Class Lounge at Melbourne and I really rate it as a comfortable and bright place to chill out before a flight. The staff were really friendly, as I was travelling on my own they came over a couple of times to check if I wanted anything so I didn’t have to keep leaving my stuff. One lady came round with a tray of Mimosas as well (like for the whole lounge, not a tray for me) which I thought was a nice touch if you’re celebrating, or heading off on holiday, or need alcohol at 10am.
It has an airy chilled out vibe here, it’s definitely not a ‘beige’ lounge. So if you have an option to travel Air New Zealand in business class and you’re heading through Melbourne, definitely give yourself some time to check the lounge out.
