Aviation addiction from a young age thanks to my Dad

My Dad sent me this photo today. It was taken at the Biggin Hill airshow in May 1982. That’s me in the middle – in between my Mum & sister. Even at the young age of 7 years old I was already hooked on aviation.

I have such fond memories of going to Biggin Hill with my Dad, the Avro Vulcan has to be a highlight – the noise that aircraft made each time it executed its fly-by is something you’ll never forget.

30 years later it appears I haven’t changed a bit. My trip to Oshkosh 2012 is just around the corner and I’ve already booked to attend Melbourne’s Avalon Airshow in 2013. Once an airshow fan always an airshow fan it seems. I really should thank my Dad next time I see him, he really was the first person to turn my eyes to the sky – I’ve never looked down since.
