Occasionally when flying between Sydney and Melbourne Qantas operate an Airbus A330 instead of the usual Boeing 737. This is good for a few reasons, there’s slightly more space, the flight is shorter, and if flying in Business the Business Class cabin and experience is usually better.
In Economy (where I was) on a morning flight you are served a ‘morning tea’ snack which on this occasion included a manna cupcake and your choice of non-alcoholic beverage.
QF422 Melbourne Sydney Qantas A330 Inflight Snack
It’s a basic snack, I didn’t eat the cupcake to be honest as I didn’t feel like cake for breakfast. But flight time in an A330 is generally just under an hour, with a slight tailwind and favourable ATC conditions we made it from Melbourne to Sydney in 52 minutes so there wouldn’t be a lot more time to enjoy much else anyway.
You can also ask for an additional bottle of water which I would always recommend, it’s important to stay hydrated when flying, even on shorter flights.
